Simple Ways To Improve Your Health and Fitness

health and fitness

At the beginning of the New Year, many of us made resolutions to improve our health and fitness. While having health and fitness aims in mind is superb, people frequently go to a too higher extremes to achieve their goals. They try the latest trend diet or workout and normally exhaust both their emotional and physical energy.

This typically leads to either quitting altogether or achieving these goals and not being capable of maintaining them. Eventually resulting in burnout, failure, or pulled muscles. Leaving the extreme, impractical goals and purpose to change your lifestyle unfulfilled.

Living a healthy lifestyle can motivate creativity and teach you self-control, adaptability, and balance. This will not only keep you looking and feeling healthier but you will have a better form of yourself glowing when you are with family and friends.

“He who has health has hope; and he who has hope has everything.” -Arabian proverb

When you decide to live a healthier lifestyle, not only will you do yourself a favour but you set an example for your family and friends. Your family and friends are impacted by the healthy adoptions you make and will often feel motivated to make a change in their own lives. Especially if you have younger siblings or children who inspire to be like you.

Exercise is also great for you and your partner when you share an interest in it, exercising together will not only increase the bond you have with your partner but you will both have more energy and live a happier life together. Exercise will also lower any possibility of disease by strengthening your immune system, creating an overall happier and healthier life.

Just by making a few simple healthier choices, you can have a great impact on all of those around you. Be the person to start the change in life…

Consistency

When you set yourself high goals there is a greater chance of burn out and injury. It is best to start small daily routine exercises before increasing your workouts.

Having fewer extreme goals you are more likely to stick to a consistent routine and enjoy the feeling of accomplishment at the end of the week. If you miss a day or have something you should not, it is not such a guilty feeling; just get right back on track and keep going. Once you have made it a routine in your life it will come naturally to you to just get up and go!

Your attitude will produce the results in the long term. Make the choice today!

Do The Exercises You Like To Do

“If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have found the safest way to health.”-Unknown

This is important when it comes to staying consistent with your exercises. If you are consistently doing exercises, you do not like, and they leave you feeling exhausted both physically and mentally, your drive will only last so long before you take the easy option and just give up.

It is much better to find exercises that make you feel good, and that you can continue to improve at, even if it is just a walk around the block each morning. The constant low-intensity workout will always triumph over high-intensity exercise.

Yoga is a good example and a not as extreme kind of exercise and it can help you lose weight with regular attendance. A recent study found that people who practice yoga are more mindful about what they eat daily.

Eat Healthy Food

To maintain a healthy lifestyle, you should keep eating healthy food.  By adding more fruits and vegetables to your diet your will have more energy and less burnout.  Eating small amounts of carbohydrates, high sodium, and unhealthy fats is a great start to your new lifestyle. Avoid eating processed food and assorted sweets will make a huge difference in your overall well-being with the odd piece of dark chocolate on the side. 😊

Skipping a meal never a good idea because this will only make your body crave more food later to feed your muscle with unless you are doing a detox and doing a weekly fast skipping a meal is not helpful to your body. It is always good to stop and have a break when you can. Setting a time to have a break can be helpful when work is busy and making that time to get a little fresh air and a bit to eat and don’t forget to keep up your fluids!

Conclusion

When you take baby step towards your goals there is always less chance of causing harm to yourself. Safe is best.

Setting your goals in a realistic time frame and being around like-minded people will help with your determination and to keep yourself healthy and fit. Exercise and eat healthy food will always trump a fab diet.
